Best Time for Bulgaria

Usually we time our Europe driving holidays for late Aug - mid Oct to strike a balance between escaping some of our Southern Hemisphere winter while avoiding all but the last of the August holiday crowds in Europe.Next year we (two of us) hope to self-drive Bulgaria, and this time we could be starting earlier than usual. Our Bulgarian dates (which include some Black Sea coast towns) look like being 21 Aug-2 Sep. Our usual preference is to book our accommodation only a day or two ahead as we go.Does Bulgaria (especially where we’re going) get so busy as to make that a problem? We have some flexibility with dates, but not much. Would changing them to 31 Aug-12 Sep make any difference?Thanks..

It could make a small difference. The kids are back to school, so less crowds at tourist resorts and the weather may start to get less hotter.
