Hi
Well of course you've got Fodors. But I love the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides series and that is the one I used for Spain. Beautiful presentation and very informative re attractions. There are probably better publications for restaurant and hotel reviews though.

For just the cost of the ink it takes to print, supplement ny book you choose (maybe browse your local library and borrow first?) - - with the extraordinary "book(let)s" at http://www.maribelsguides.com

I just re-read your post. I don't use the DK Guide for restaurant or hotel recommendations. If I were you, I'd use the DK Guide to narrow down where you want to visit, then use this board, Maribel, trip advisor, etc. to find hotels and restaurants in those locations.

I agree with missypie . I do the same and sometimes I contact hotels on my own and see what happens for instance I am happy to try in my next trip Hotel Lasa in Valladolid, I liked what I read and they were very nice answering my requests for information. I think I am going to like it, I feel there are many REAl Spanish hotels maybe three stars or even two used mainly by Spaniards that are great and very good bus one of them is Hotel Victoria in Trujillo, a much better choice, for me , than the Parador.
