What are the best scotland hotel sites you have come across for budget hotels or hotels 40-50 GPB?

So far, I've come across visitscotland.com, www.scotland-hotels.com, and www.destinationscotland.com

Any other good ones? The areas I'm looking for are Glasgow, Edinburgh, and near Isle of Skye, and possibly somewhere in Fife.

I don't tend to use any of the general sites. So many of the small B&Bs and hotels in Scotland don't pay to advertise on the comercial ones like scotland-hotels.

Vists Scotland is a bit different - but the properties still have to pay to be listed w/ the tourist board.

If I don't already know where I want to stay, I'll usually just google whatever town/village/district and serch the individual B&B/hotel websites.

oh - or ask for recommendations here . . . . .

any recs for Glasgow for just 1-2 days, 40-50 pounds? Hopefully close to trains, buses, city sights. I'll also be using it as a pit stop to take the West Highland Train journey.
