Best of Germany with 11 year old Boy ?

Berlin - aside from gate and wall remains not sure what else is good for 11 yo boy.>
Even that for an 11-yr-old may not be that exciting - distant history. I'd consider going to Swiss Alps where there are lots of thrilling things to do - like Interlaken area. Or London which has so much for kids of all ages. Anyway fly into say Germany and out of Paris or London - London if soccer season could take in games in London.
