DB - This website has itinerary suggestions for 2-4 days in Rome.
Your best place to start planning

http://www.romaturismo.com

Similarly for Florence, go to:

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Since your flight out of Rome on the 30th is early and you wouldn't want to be coming back from Florence that day, I would head straight to Florence when you land in Rome. It's only two hours by train. Spend at least two nights in Florence, depending on your interests and if you want to do any day trips to Tuscany. Take the train back to Rome for your remaining days. This way you only have to hotel-hop once.
