Best Exchange rate in Florence?

We have not been to Florence for about 7 years. It used to be that there was a credit union on the Piazza della Signoria that had the best rates. Is it still there? Does it accept the networked ATM cards (Cirrus, etc)

charmees, I don't get your question. Any bank ATM in the entire city of Florence will "give you" the exact same rate if you use an ATM card in any of them. Your bank sets the rate of exchange and it will be the same no matter what bank you used your card at. If you take 250 euros out of any Italian ATM, you'll still get the same amount, and your bank will treat that money the same when it figures your fee or currency exchange rate no matter what ATM it came out of.

OK, I guess I was thinking like the old days when you went to a cambio and physically exchanged one currency for another. Sorry!!

Avoid the cambios completely, even with "no fees", still not a good deal.

Good question. Previous currency was the LIRA. Now we have the EURO. I imagine that there were major differences in conversion costs with the latter money. Here in Poland rates at Kantors vary. Highest cost at the airport and hotels, lowest away from these venues.
