Berlin, Krakow and Prague.

I have already bought tickets for flights to Berlin. I have eight days in Berlin and I had originally planned on visiting Prague too (by train). Now, I would like to include Krakow on this trip.

How's this schedule to divide the time between teh three places:-

Day 1, arrive AM in Berlin.
Day 2, Berlin
Day 3 Berlin
Day 4 Fly am Berlin to Krakow
Day 5 Fly afternoon Krakow to Berlin
Day 6 Berlin, train to Prague (am arrive before noon)
Day 7 Prague
Day 8 Prague, train to Berlin (pm)
Day 9 Dept Berlin

I am young and travel at a fairly brisk pace. Jet lag is not an issue since I will fly to Berlin on a intra European flight.

I have little interest in the museums in Berlin and I would like to see modern architecture in the city.

Austwich is of no interest. I will have about 26 hours in Krakow if flights are not delayed.

Any information/feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks.

We spent 2 weeks this past Oct. in Berlin, Prague and surrounding areas.
6 days in Berlin - We loved it there and could have spent a few more days. If you're interested in WWII history, take the Berlin Walks WWII tour. I think it was 12 euro and well worth it.
Drove to Prague for 3 days and didn't much care for the area but I think we are definitely the minority so hope you like it better that we did.
Drove back to Germany to a little town on the Poland border - Gorlitz and loved this small quaint town. Not to be missed.
Onto Dresden for a few days and again we loved this area except the weather was so cold and windy it was hard to be outside.
Last stop was Leipzig after visiting Buchenwald Concentration Camp - makes you thankful to be free.
Best part of the trip: Berlin and Gorlitz.
We stayed in some very nice hotels - this area is not as expensive as the rest of Western Europe. If you need the names, let me know. [email protected]
Have a wonderful trip.

if you are not interested in museums, galleries
and historical sights, 2 days in Berlin will give you enough time to see the modern architecture and
one and a half day is enough time to walk around Prague.
Don't know Krakow.

You are welcome,
airberlin is a cheaper version of Lufthansa.
I'll be using it to fly from Berlin to Munich.
Great deals all over Europe ,and beyond.

Yes, for a young person who is willing to move quickly from place to place, it's doable and I'd say that your time allotment (given the total amount of time you have) is appropriate to the amount of sights in the 3 cities. The modern architecture in Berlin is stunning. Enjoy.

"airberlin is a cheaper version of Lufthansa"

HUH? Air Berlin is Germany's second biggest airline and has nothing to do with Lufthansa at all. They compete like crazy.

as you are not interested in anything very much, why bother going to Krakow? Why bother going to Prague for that matter.

If you are interested in modern architecture, why are you going to Prague as wobbers also inquired?

One would think you would come to Frankfurt, the only city with a skyline in Germany. Several prize winning buildings here, the Commerz bank by Sir Norman Foster, Hoch Vier (the newest), MyZeil just came in 17th in the European Archtitecture awards for 2009, the Deutsche Bank towers have been undergoing a 200 million renovation to make them the "greenest" skyscrapers in the world, the Main Tower with its' observation deck lets you view it all, the new ECB building due to begin soon is going to great looking. They have models of it at the Deutsche Architecture Museum here in Frankfurt.

I don't know when you are arriving here, but the Luminale in 2010 is in Frankfurt from April 11-16. This is a must see for any photographer. I think there are a 150 light art projects from artists from around the world.
