Berlin

Any tips for 40-year-old male in Berlin. I want to check out the club scene but I've heard a lot of negstive things as to getting in etc. .. I don't mind purchasing a table but some of the clubs do not offer that service . Seems like the real popular ones do not but I do not want to wait in line for two hours and not get in .im Going Solo I'm not sure if this works to my advantage or not .. anyone recommend a club in Berlin that is worthwhile . What is considered casual attire jeans and a nice black T-shirt . Black button down ? One chance to do this right so I appreciate your help .Bottle service or not thanks for the help . What about the pub crawls. Those good ideas .

Hey - there is no one-size-fits-all answer to your question.

I'm not sure what you mean with "purchasing a table" - at least not at the major clubs. Some events may offer a VIP access for money, but that's not the norm.

Most clubs have a very liberal door policy, and at most doors it's more a matter of crowd control than sporting the proper outfit.
The attire differs a little bit between the usual crowd at a techno or electronic music club vs. those who go to an indie rock club, as you can imagine.
But in general, you do not "dress nice" but rather dress funky or sexy (regardless of age, by the way).

I usually suggest NOT to waste any time to get into Berghain.
Or make it your last stop in the morning hours to see if you can get in. Otherwise the line is just too long.
But Berghain is one of only a handful of clubs with a somewhat erratic door policy.

Others which can be tough to get in are Watergate (but worth a try unless the line is too long), Wilde Renate, and Kit Kat Club - the latter more because of the, hum, very liberal attitude inside, and the guy or girl at the door wants to make sure you know what to expect.

For starters, you have clubs like Arena on river Spree in Kreuzberg which are quite huge, offer a solid range of floors and music, and don't make a fuss at the door.

Tresor is definetely worth waiting a bit in line. Again, the door is more for crowd control and keeping the number of people inside within the legal maximum than for picking the "right" people.

For a different flavor in music, you can try Lido (a former cinema) with caters more for the indie crowd.

In general, many clubs are located roughly where the boroughs of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain meet at river Spree, in the vicinity of Schlesisches Tor and Warschauer Str. subway stations.
If you have decided which clubs you want to go to, you should check their websites to make sure that they don't host a party targeted either at a special audience or featuring big names as visiting artists at that respective night.

To get a rough idea what to expect, you can check out the pages of the Berlin TI:
https://www.visitberlin.de/en/drinking-nightlife
There are literally hundreds of clubs aside from the big names you find in any "must see" list of Lonely Planet or TimeOut.

Omg thanks for such and amazing answer. I'm looking for a club that offers bottle service so I can sit down dance alittle invite ransoms to have a drink!! I'd rather pay to skip the line have my own table and bottle. That's what I do in vegas and it seems to work. Plus I'm older so I'm worried about demographics in line

Sorry, guess that I misunderstood your question.
In German, a "club" or "clubbing" means mostly a larger music venue. More in the sense of yesteryear's "discos" than "bar".
I think the club you mean we would call a "night club" over here.
I'm afraid I don't know much about them.
Nevertheless, also at the larger (music) clubs, age does not matter.

I had this bookmarked because I am easily entertained, and Vader delivering vodka sounded hilarious...of course that may have been because I was drinking vodka at the time, who knows...

I didn't get the impression that bottle service was all that common in Germany like it is in Vegas but it's not my scene- I'm more a biregarten gal- so may be wrong. Hope you write a trip report, though, clubbing is not something that comes up here often, so I'm curious to know how it turns out for you, especially if you don't speak German.

Are you staying at a hotel? If you are willing to pay for bottle service it occurred to me that you may be staying at the kind of high end international hotel with a concierge who can give you some recs for this.

I was staying at the Ritz but the construction I guess is too noisy so I'm across the street at the Marriott . But that's a good thought .i will try!

I like adagio sounds more like vegas style . Pearl seem good but a lot don't like it.
