I just tried to find the guesthouse we stayed in but must be closed. We still talk about it. She was by far the nosiest women ever. Our plans sort of fell through because we had a surprise early snow storm so we went to Salzburg on a bus and got a bit drunk. Our rental car did not have the proper tires. We have a name for her and she sort of put us off to Guest houses and B&Bs. So, we have always said we would stay in this hotel if we return. Berchtesgaden is not a hopping place on a Sunday in a snow storm.

We stayed at Pension Perlerlehen. Beautiful place! http://www.perlerlehen.de/ Not a lot of English spoken but the view was breathtaking, house was clean, and we enjoyed a great breakfast. You might need a car. It's a working farm up on a hill overlooking Berchtesgaden. We stayed here in 2011.
