It will take you 5 to 5 1/2 hours to get from Luxembourg City to Delft, with a change in Brussels &amp; Rotterdam. You can easily stash your luggage in a locker at the Brussels train station and spend a few hours checking out part of the city. The Grand Place should not be missed, if you have a chance to see it. Stopping in Brussels will help to break up the long journey.

We stayed at the Hotel Carlton in Luxembourg City. It was conveniently near the train station, and just a few minutes walk across the viaduct.

My apologies, wilkie, but the BeNeLux Pass is only available for 5 days. They use to have more flexibility on how many days you could purchase, but they must have changed their policy.

It looks like you will have 6 days of travel, so you can still use the pass and just buy a point-to-point for the cheapest leg of the journey.

Since you are travelling with a partner, be sure to use the Saverpass.

The Dutch tend to use the sibilant s a lot - making it Shkipol, but Skipol or Shipol are also used. Rarely is the &quot;ol&quot; elongated to &quot;ole&quot;, and the &quot;i&quot; is always short - &quot;it&quot; not &quot;ski&quot;. But no matter how you pronounce it everyone will know what you mean.

artstuff....I think it might have been blue and heart shaped. I went to that little square quite often when I worked in Den Haag, so I guess I should remember, but it's been 3 years since I went back to Delft and visited.

DER Rail, the former German Railways outlet for railpasses in U.S. is now owned by RailEurope. www.raileurope.com but for orders under $399 they add i think an $18 shipping fee - one reason i always recommend BETS (800-441-2387) as they do not except on rush orders and they also will answer any questions by phone - RailEurope charges 10% higher if you place an order by phone also.

With the euro going up so much the passes seem a better deal then last year.
