Belmond Caruso or Borgo Santandrea?
First time along the Italian Coast...we are traveling with 2 teen girls (15 & 17) mid-April coming from a few days in Rome. Looking at Belmond Caruso but I'm wondering if it's too remote for a day trip to Capri or Positano; though we love walking the old town style car-free neighborhoods.
Also looking at Borgo Santandrea. Sea will be too cold for swimming so beach clubs aren't a must, and Belmond's heated pool is a huge plus for our girls. Any recs as per either? They both look stunning with similar rates for the rooms we're looking at.

The Hotel Borgo Sant' Andrea has a bus stop (Il Saraceno) with direct buses to Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento (where you will have to take the fery to Capri)..
From Hotel Caruso at Ravello, you must first go by bus to Amalfi and change there to the Sorrento bound bus (journey at least 30min longer OW, but perfectly feasible).

Necker: Is Borgo Sant Andrea an update of an older classic Amalfi hotel?
I've been to that area only a few times but I think your choice of the Sant Andrea, even if I do not know this hotel, is sound due to location.
The Caruso is beautiful but staying in 'Ravello puts you at a less convenient spot for exploring the general area. Last time there I stayed nearby at Palazzo Avino (we had a rental car in mid September) ; recommend 'Ravello if you plan to stay and explore the town or have a private driver to show you Paestum, mozzarella makers near there and other towns of which my favorite is Cetara.
For that time of year, do check with hotel to make certain that their pools are open and heated during your dates......I've learned that the hard way, believe me!

We stayed at the Belmond Caruso in 2023 and it was the most beautiful and charming hotel i have ever stayed in. We loved being in Ravello. We loved being able to walk out to the charming and completely car-free piazza in the evening for aperitivi, walk to dinner at one of several wonderful places in Ravello, etc. If, that is, you can tear yourself away from the hotel! And the Amalfi Coast is so busy with tourists, so it was a delight to be up there away from all of the craziness. But we still saw the area. We visited Positano and Amalfi - we took the hotel shuttle, which I highly recommend. It was free, it ran at convenient times, and it was infinitely less stressful than driving on the amalfi coast. We did have a rental car, but we didn't touch it the whole time we were there. We also did a boat trip to and around Capri, including lunch iat a very charming place in a tiny seaside village, which we loved. We didn't get off the boat and visit Capri, but there are excursions that do that. Again, we took the shuttle from the hotel to meet the boat, which was very easy. We did not do the mozzerella experience or visit the ruins at Paestum, but you could do that from the Belmond, either by booking one of their excursions or by driving. Of course, none of this is cheap! It is a luxury hotel - we were there for our 30th wedding anniversary. But if you have already compared prices and are deciding between the two places based on factors besides price, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
