bed and breakfast in the Cotswolds?

Can anyone recommend a wonderful (but not too expensive) bed and breakfast in the Cotswolds?

Two summers ago we stayed at a marvelous manor house near Stow on the Wold (one mile away). The Fossie Manor Hotel in Cheltenham. It is rated 3-star and if I remember correctly is moderately priced. Not really just a B&B but small and perfectly located. We travel to Warwick, Stratford, and other smaller places from here. Liked it so well we stayed three days and made it our base. Hope this helps.

The Lamb Inn in Great Rissington, Gloucestershire, a short drive to Stow on the Wold, Burford, Bourton on the Water or Upper and Lower Slaughter...very pretty accomodations, pub and dining room on the main floor, beautiful gardens and was very reasonable...have stayed there twice.
Phone is 0451-20388 and they do have a website with alot of info.

Cindy: We enjoyed our stay at the Hollington House Hotel, a B&B in Cheltenham. It's within walking distance from the center of town and a short drive to the train station. We used an Enterprise car, which was dropped off at the B&B and we used it to tour the Cotswolds. Two favorite stops were Broadway and Chipping Campden.
Try using this page as there is a list of B&Bs, including The Lamb Inn.
http://www.theaa.co.uk/region8/AllPubs.html

Hi Cindy. We just got back from Europe including a 5 day stay in the Cotswolds. We stayed in Broadway and loved it. We found a cottage to rent online, and it turned out to be charming. We found it at Cotswolds.com
This site also has B&Bs and info about the area in general.
Regarding the above posting about Bourton on The Water-- that was the only place we wish we had avoided. Tour buses, cotton candy, tacky gift shops. Yuck! To each his own, but it reminded us of a scene out of Night of the Living Dead where the zombies come out and meander aimlessly.

Cindy,

I have stayed in the Cotswolds for the past three trips and (depending how long you are staying) I would recommend staying at the Stanton (no relation to me) Court Cottages in the village of Stanton. There is also The Unicorn in Stow on the Wold and The Manor in Morton on Marsh.
