Hi Trophywife! No plans for this year. Thanks so much for weighing in. Interesting that the harper has been there since '97! Thanks for the kind words about the report -- which was unusually brief!
Hi Maureencol -- just now seeing your post from Sept. Yes, I should try visiting sometime in September. Thanks for the kind words about my photos!

Hello - I don't know how I missed this report. I am thinking of booking this hotel. Did you see the Jury's Inn? How was that one?
I am trying to write a packing list. any tips?
off to look at your photos!

kelsey22-- just now seeing your comment from August! Not familiar with the Jury's Inn. Aside from that, bring essentials and clothes you easily wash out and wear repeatedly. Wear layers! Hooded rain jacket essential.

hi Susan
I happened upon your trip report of Ireland and then looked at a few of your past reports and it appears that we like so many of the same travel locations . I am planning a trip to Ireland and your itinerary is VERY close to the route I am taking . I was wondering can you give me a breakdown of the "bases" you stayed and days .... now that your back would you alter your original itinerary at all?
I always find after I return from a trip that I might have added a day or two from one place and deleted a day or two ... thank you so much I really appreciate it .
many thanks

ElizabethG -- Just now discovering your comment from a couple months ago. Doing it over, I would skip Donegal and add more time to Kerry or Northern Ireland. To me, they were the most beautiful places. The Clare coast is also lovely. If your time is really limited, skip Dublin & Rock of Cashel, and just focus on the west cost. With more time, spend a few days along the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland, and a couple nights near Glens of Antrim, Northern Ireland. Great castles: Ross and Dunguaire.

Susan, we are finally going to Ireland in May with some friends on a tour. It's with an Irish tour company and we really liked the itinerary. We will have a couple of extra days in Dublin before beginning our tour.

We are also planning to take a day trip to the Boyne Valley with one of our free days in Dublin.

Betty, so glad you have planned a trip to Ireland. The Boyne Valley is fascinating... get there early, so you can get tickets for both sites... it fills up early and the lines can be long to get tickets. The link you posted shows all their tours, and I hope you will be going to the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland and the West Coast (Counties Kerry & Clare) -- so beautiful.
Have a fabulous trip and thanks for letting me know!

The Boyne Valley tour is with a private driver. Since there will be 4 of us, the per person cost for all day isn't so bad. Hopefully we'll get there early enough!
The web page above IS four our tour -- the 15 Day North & South Tour. You probably didn't go down the page far enough. But, yes, we do the Antrim Coast and the West Coast. Only thing we don't do on this tour that I'd hope to see is the Dinge Peninsula. But, it does cover just about everything else.

Hi Betty -- The Dingle Peninsula is stunning, but tour busses don't get out there... roads too narrow. Good that you are spending time in the North & West Coast! Looking forward to reading your trip report and seeing pictures.

susan001...just wanted to let you know that your photos are still wowing people and invaluable to me to help figure out where I want to go. I definitely want to stay at Ballynahinch Castle and hope for a view like you had! Just wish you had named all the B&B's you pictured so I could check them out.
