Beach location near Pisa

We are staying at a villa in pistoia And would like to Drive to the coast to spend the day at beach with our 2 kids. Do you have a suggestion of where we can go to spend the day?

Viareggio or Forte dei Marmi.

Forte dei Marmi is lovely, you could spend the day at one of the beach clubs.

Thank you for the suggestions. So am I to assume you probably must reserve a spot at a beach club in advance?

Yes, you reserve in advance. The one we used is called Montecristo di Levante and the website is: www.bagnomontecristo.it

Our hotel made the booking for us but you could call yourself or book online. There are many to choose from and if you look at this link: www.dreamofitaly.com she has a few more she recommends.

We were happy at the Montecristo, they provide chairs, sun-loungers, umbrella, there are washrooms, showers, a little cafe, waiter service on the sand etc etc, very civilized!

Have a good time! I was just saying to my husband I think next summer we should spend a couple of weeks in Forte dei Marmi. Ahh, Italy, I think I am addicted.
