Bayern Tickets

I just purchased a bayern ticket for myself and my son to go to Fussen from Munich. I'm thinking about detouring over to Tegelberg before returning to Munich. My question is: Are Bayern tickets train specific? If I don't make the 4pm train listed on my ticket, can I just hop on another one?

Hi Donna_Kanaly,

The Bayern Ticket is like a pass for one day of train/bus travel within the state of Bavaria. So, no, your train is not specific, and you can take any train within the time of validity (weekdays from 9am).

I find it strange that there is a train listed on your ticket -- when I use a Bayern Ticket, it just says, Bayern Ticket. Do make sure that that's what you have.

Have fun as you plan!

Don't plan too tight. You wan't to see a bit of the atmosphere and have a bratwurst or two in the stadium as well. And you don't won't to miss the beginning of the game because you are still stuck in security. a 4pm train sounds like you have either a Friday night game or the late Saturday game ... If it is the Saturday (18:30 game) I would try to be at the stadium by 17:00 or 17:30 at the latest ... Have fun at the game, night games are cool because of the unique illumination of the stadium.

Sorry about confusion-I want to go over to tegelbergbahn for the gondola/luge not a game. I have looked at my ticket which is in German and it clearly says BAYERN at the top but does list the specific trains that I was planning to take. I'm enclosing a copy and paste with my name and info blocked out so you could maybe double check me since I do not read German.

It is a Bayern ticket for two persons. 2nd class. Valid on April 10th from 9 a.m. until 3 a.m.the following day (weekdays). It looks like Saturdays and Sundays, as well as recognized holidays, it is valid from midnight on (not 9a.m.) Since April 10th is a Sunday, I assume the validity begins at midnight and is good for trips ending by 3 a.m. on Monday, April 11.
It is not for a specific train. You are safe.
