My mother and I have reservations at the afore mentioned Dorian house for 1 evening during our upcoming trip. She (my mother) can probably handle the trek down the hill in the morning but the walk back would definitely be too much it seems - are cabs readily available? I don't know if I can change my reservation at this point.

Yes, you should be able to find a cab, I would think.

However, if you want a flat walk and can change your reservation, look in the Brompton House. It's about a 7 minute walk to the Abbey, but it's flat and on a nice quiet street.

Does anybody have any recommendations for 3 star B & B's in Bath?

You will find cabs easy to find. There is a rank in Orange Grove directly behind the Abbey by the end of High Street as well as at the station. The 13, 14 and 17 busses, from Bath bus station (the 13 also travels through the city centre) also pass the end of Upper Oldfield Park, where the Dorian House is located and would therefore save you the uphill walk.

Thanks for the bus and cab info - very helpful!

I can't bring myself to change the reservation, I made it so long ago and the people seem so nice. Thanks to everyone.
