One problem with Gibraltar for most itineraries is that it is way out of the way -on the road or train line or bus routes to nowhere -being far-removed from Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga -where most here seem to concentrate on. Too bad it were not easy day trips or easy trips from those hot spots. And no flights or buses direct from Spain.

Heading down the coast by car, I'd hit Tarragona, Valencia, Altea, Alicante, Mojacar, La Herradura,Malaga. I'd skip Nerja since they still haven't built the sewage treatment plant.

A family of 4 may be better off in a large car unless going all to larger cities. Bedar's drive down coast would be super.
