Barcelona - Tapas and Wine bars
I was in Barcelona a few years ago and we walked into a section of the city that was overflowing with tapas bars, restaurants, and wine bars. It was almost like a a little Soho from NYC. I am returning in June and would like to return to this area and cannot remember the name of the neighborhood. Does anyone know the name?

The main tapss bar district is El Born, around Carrer de la Princesa, Carrer de l'Argenteria. Look for places where no English is spoken and where you see no Americans.
In any case, avoid Las Ramblas - the main tourist rip-offs.

Hi Ischlo,
when we went to Barcelona last September, we ate for our entire 3 days in tapas bars, bar one meal, and had some great food.
wherever you are in the city, it's hard to go wrong, so long as you avoid the obvious touristy spots [identified by the multi-lingual menus and often waiters stood outside].
