Barcelona on Weekend or Weekdays

Hi,

I am travelling to Spain in mid October for 13 days with my wife. We plan to spend 2 days in San Sebastian and 3 days in Barcelona in the first leg of trip. Our options are to do Sat, Sun and Monday in Barcelona and then Tues and Wed in San Sebastian OR Sat & Sun in San Sebastian and then Mon, Tue and Wed in Barcelona.
Considering that we have to travel to Andulasia/South Spain after this, doing Barcelona after San Sebastian might make more sense. However, Barcelona seems like the best place to visit in the country and we would not want to miss out any experience because of weekdays.
We are landing in Madrid on Thur night and spending Friday in Madrid and then 1.5 days more at the end of trip as our return flight is from Madrid as well.
PS: It is our first trip to Spain or even Europe.
Thanks in advance!

The weather should be fine in October in San Sebastián, not something you'll want to miss. The only problem I see with Sunday evenings and Mondays is that many of the better restaurants will be closed in both Donostia and Barcelona (no fresh fish), but that doesn't limit you to having a good meal, as there are still some goo options.

If you're heading to Andalucia after visiting the North, then I would take the train from Madrid to Barcelona, fly to San Sebastiá, or Bilbao, fly to Sevilla and take the train back to Madrid from Sevilla.

It's a lot of movement in only 13 days, but doable for some.

It really depends on what you want to see and experience! I must admit that I find your itinerary incredibly rushed -- are you sure you can see what you want in the timeframes you mention?

With so little time, perhaps you have identified only a very limited set of sites to visit? If so, I think you would do well to check opening hours of those specific sites before making a commitment.

Good luck!

I understand the rushed part. Our current two itinerary options, as we have thought of, are:
We land on 19th evening
1. 20th Oct - Madrid
2. 21st & 22nd (Sat & Sun) - San Sebastian
3. 23-25 (Mon-Wed) - Barcelona
4. 26, 27, 28 & 29 (Thu-Sun) - Malaga, Granada & Jerez
5. 30 & 31st (Mon&Tue) - Seville
6. Return to Madrid on 1st sometime. Our return flight is on 2nd Nov night.
Any suggestion will be welcome on this. We are specially in dilemma for the first half of trip.
We don't mind having a hectic trip.
Thanks to all in advance!

Sorry, missed the second option. The second option is swapping Barcelona and San Sebastian. We can't edit after submitting I suppose.
Thanks!
