Barcelona for 4 hours

I will wait at the Barcelona Airporto for four hours. Is it possible to go to the city center (Las Ramblas, f.i.)? How long does the trip from/to the airport take? And how can I make it, how much would it cost?

When we went it took about 40 mins, in a taxi which are available outside the airport at a cost of about 27 euros, i also believe there is a bus but i have no idea how much it costs or how long it takes

the airport is well outside the city. i don't think it would be worth the cabfare for the hour and one half you'd have (max) in town.

the barcelona airport is okay as far as shops and cafe/restaurants go. i'd wait it out.

If you are connecting in Barcelona and have a U.S. Passport, you may not be alowed to leave the departure area (i.e., not even to go to the Duty Free shops). I encountered this situation several years ago when I was on a TWA flight from Lisbon to JFK with a scheduled stop in Barcelona. U.S. Passport holders were not allowed to leave the Departure area. But I carry an EU-passport and it was no problem for me. Keeping that in mind: there's an elevated walkway to a regional rail station across the street from the airport. I think it will take you to Barcelona-Sants Multimodal transportation center.

I, personally have never taken it so I don't know how long it takes or how much it costs (certainly less than 27-Euro) but you may be able to access a schedule online.

Well, I'm back from my trip and now I have the information to whom it may concern: is very easy to go to the center of Barcelona from the airport, the Aerobus costs €3,45, takes half an hour to the Plaza Cataluna. I've done a wonderful 3-hour walk throught Las Ramblas and definitively worth! And thanks, NEDSIRELAND, for your information, but I'm not US citzen.
