Barcelona Car Service

I am planning to book a car service for an early morning trip to the airport. The price is about twice as much as what I've been told a taxi would be (EUR 70 + 7% tax vs EUR 30ish). Do I also need to tip the driver of the car service or is this included? Thanks!

Last week, I have used regular taxis in Barcelona at any regular or god-forsaken hour of the day (or night) -- and there was never a problem getting on.

Why don't you reserve a taxi with one of the regular cab companies and save 40 Euros?

Random example for one of the companies, also with online reservations:

Really? Even if my flight is at 6am and I need to leave at 3:30-4 am? I like that site's online booking feature. Okay, I will give it a shot...thanks for advice!

Barcelona is a big city and taxis are available 24 hours, every day.

As in any other major city I know, reserving a cab for 3.30am is no more odd than for 3.30pm.

Especially on weekends, you may be amazed how many people will be still up around 3/4am. It's the time when you head from the "early bird clubs" which open around midnight to other clubs or bars which have their peak hours later.

Sorry.. you also asked how much to tip..

I usually round up to the next Euro or two. If fare was 7.50 I'd give 8. If it was 33, maybe 34 or 35.
It's a "real tip", not something you are required to add to the fare.
If you are not satisfied, don't tip.
