We are staying at the Hotel Continental, La Rambla in March and intend to use the AEROBUS from the airport.
The Aerobus leaves the airport every 15 minutes and stops in Placa de Catalunya which is only a few steps from the hotel. The journey takes about 30 minutes, but longer in the rush hour.
To get the bus at the airport, walk outside and look for a bus stop with a small blue & white sign. For your return to the airport, the bus leaves Placa de Catalunya every 15 minutes.
www.barcelona-on-line has lots of information about the city.
Enjoy your trip.

I can't remember what the cab price was in 2000 but for two people it wasn't too much more to take a taxi instead of the shuttle. And you won't have to wait for the shuttle (15-30 minutes)

Ditto Marc's reply: Four shuttle bus tickets is probably more than a cab ride. It's not that far from airport to town. Why people take shuttles that are always full and always stop at your hotel last is beyond me - you have spent $$$$$$$$$$$ getting overseas and then scrimp on price of comfortable transport after long flights. Oh well.
Just my opinion.....

Agree with former writers, I would say that as general rule, all over, shuttles are worth it for one person, for two it comes about even with taxi fare, for more than two a taxi is a better choice, only and unless taxis are not reliable, which is not the case of Barcelona. But of course again a gneral rule is to take licenced taxis.
