Hi All, I've been reading for a few weeks now and want to thank everyone for some wonderful hints, tips and suggestions. My wife and I are traveling to Barcelona for the first time this Christmas. We are staying at the Alexandra hotel. Anyone know anything about it? We are also considering a drive up to Bibao and staying a night in SS. Were only going to be in Barcelona for six nights, is a trip up to the Guggenheim and SS worth two days? Also, any help with resaurants and must to do's would be greatly appreciated. Especially for Dec 26th as understand it's a pretty slow day in Barcelona. Thanks.

Beg Maribel for her notes on Barcelona and San Sebastian and Bilbao. They're priceless! (Based on our four weeks of touring the North of Spain and Barcelona this fall with them in hand).

To bilbao/ss and back seems a long trip for 2 days - we did it some years ago and it seemes like the drive took at least 6 hours. San Sebastian was very intresting though - unlike much of the rest of Spain in climate and architecture. Have you looked at actual travel timess to see how much time you could spend in Bilbao/ss?
