Barb, I am so proud of you to bring your dream of this walk to fruition. So many times we wistfully say we would like to do something and never make the effort to actually do it.
I can't wait to hear all about your adventures and watch your video.
I am just smiling with joy for you!

Thanks Sea, It will be a trip of a lifetime for sure.
The pack definitely sits on my hips, that's why I was having a big of discomfort in my hips. They are not used to carrying all that weight. Shoulders felt great, so I guess it sits where it is supposed to.

My eldest sister and her husband walked part of the Camino trail a couple of years ago. Covered 800 km in 38 days carry all their own packs. Both are over 60 .They never book accommodation - only the day ahead or when they arrive. They stay in the most facinating places like monasterys or pensions and eat very well and very cheaply. They have meet a variety of travelers all who have stories to tell. They are at present walking in France.
Have a great time.

Well ... what an amazing journey that was!! It was definitely the most physically challenging thing I have done to date and the most rewarding emotionally and spiritually. I will do a trip report, but unfortunately I've come back to a rather difficult job dilemma, coupled with surgery (planned), so that has taken up most of my time and energy since I got home. We also need to organize our photos and videos. Wow, I would just encourage anyone who has dreamt about doing the Camino to just do it!! You will never regret it. Hopefully I'll be able to start a trip report in the next couple of weeks.

I did read that book before the Camino and enjoyed it. Much different walk than the Camino though. I read some very good books on the Camino in preparation. I will put together my list of books for the trip report.
