I went on a MSC cruise from Venice to Croatia and the Greek isles last September. The entertainment was alright. The food was below average in my opinion and I'm not a real foodie. We did not have trouble with the staff not speaking English. I had read that this was a problem. I would choose a different cruise lines next time.

Look at how much time is spent in port - when I was researching cruises I thought it might be nice to be on a ship with ALOT of Europeans - what really made me decide against this line was most port visits were not that long and you need as much time as possible in most ports.
As an earlier poster said - there are many many reviews over on Cruise Critic. Also did you know that MSC stands for Mediterannean Smoking Cruise? If you are a smoker maybe its a good fit as many US oriented lines are now restricting smoking.

My husband and I have been on a 7 day Greek isle cruise from Venice on the MSC Armonia 6 years ago and a 7 day Med cruise from Rome with Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the seas.
We will be on the MSC Poesia in September on a Baltic cruise.
We prefer MSC for a number of reasons - except for the ice show on RC, the nightly show/entertainment was better on the Armonia, we also prefer the meals on MSC with 7 courses and smaller portions, as opposed to the 3 course, huge portions on RC.
The Navigator was bigger and shinier, but the cabins were the same basically.
The cabin steward on MSC was nicer than the one on RC.
Having said all of that, both were great cruises - to us, the itinerary is more important than the cruise line.
Good luck with whatever you choose!
