How was the flight and who did you fly on? Can you tell us if it wasn't nonstop how did you manage that? Did you have to show PCR results then? I live in Fl and ready to escape. Did you wear just a mask or a mask and shield? I have to do both for work so could manage. Were you warmly welcomed? My niece, husband, and two other couples went last year renting beautiful houses. I think they did three bases. BTW, I don't think I could try the risotto.

What a wonderful trip report! The photos are fantastic! You’ve definitely inspired me to move Croatia up on my ever-changing list of priorities! Like others have said, it’s tempting to pick up and go, but I’m also not yet ready to travel. Still, it’s lovely to travel along with you.
You really pulled it together well!

I just spent the last 30 minutes looking at flights. Not cheap to fly from MCO. If we didn't have so many vouchers to use in France would do in a heartbeat. I showed my husband the pictures. We looked up the money, did it take you a while to calculate prices? I like that you did public transportation. No parking and you didn't have to navigate.

Thanks for the info. That is the flight I can use from MCO but with a couple of stops, one being in Germany. I imagine they would want to see a test result there also. I would have been having heart palpitations with them wanting it printed out. So nice the flights were not full for you. 21 hours straight is a long time.

Adding in a few more of my favorite phots that I overlooked. Hope some of these continue to inspire those of you yet to get to Croatia.
Nighttime at the Clock Tower end of the Stradun, with Church of St. Blaise. Dubrovnik.
Alter piece. St. Blaise holds a model of Dubrovnik.
This guy has got it all figured out on a hot Sunday afternoon in Korcula Old Town.
Old Town of Korcula as sunset approaches.
One of many atmospheric little back streets in Hvar Old Town.
Hope you have a narrow boat! Off of the island of Vis.
Statue of St. Jerome at the Meštrović Museum. Split.
This beautiful piece of marble is believe to be from the Emperor Diocletian’s actual dining table. Split City Museum.
Clock tower and loggia. Main square in Trogir.
This cute little guy is enjoying the Plitvice Lakes and waterfalls even more than me!
Another gorgeous Plitvice lake and waterfall.
Pedestrianized Tkalciceva St. with multiple cafes and beer pubs. Zagreb.

A couple more photos I meant to upload but somehow missed.
Mosaic on the top of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Zagreb.
Inside the Serbian Orthodox Church. The scaffolding, I would guess, is a result of the 5.5 earthquake this past March. This was one of the very few churches in Zagreb I was able to enter.
Mosaic of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Serbian Orthodox Church. Zagreb.

You’ll have to remember that I was there when crowds were at a low due to coronavirus. I have heard that normally Hvar is packed with tourists and is considered a party island. That would not be my thing. I found Korcula prettier and more atmospheric. The restaurant scene however was definitely better on Hvar. If I had to pick just one, I’d choose Korcula for its more serene pace and for the opportunity to taste at wineries.

We only visited Hvar and we loved it! So I obviously can't comment on Korcula. However, regarding party town reputation, we were there in mid-September 2019, during the day. We took a day trip from Split, so we weren't in Hvar Town at night. During the day it was fine. Not a party place; no partiers; no drunks!

In MinnBeefs Hvar old town photo, the one looking down the steps, he is at the spot of Hvar’s only city winery. I love that place but they have weird hours so probably were not open when the photo was taken. You can get a glass of wine there for 10 kuna, about $1.40, and sit outside and watch locals greet each other. Cool spot and no partiers even in August..
