My wife and I will be spending 2 nights in London in late March. We would like to stay in a B & B. Any suggestions?

Dennis....We were in London in March and found a lovely place--the Luna and Simone, very near Victoria Station and quite convenient. The rooms were somewhat small, which we expected, but clean and with private bath. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The #23 bus goes right past the door. We're planning another trip later this year and will certainly plan to stay there again.

Hi Dennis:<BR> We stayed at Abbeth Court--174 Sussex Gardens--Hyde Park--London. They currently charge 54-68 pounds a night which included free continental breakfast. We waked to the place from Paddington train station. You will be about 15-20 minutes from Central London via the nearby tube stop across the street from train station. We would return to same place.

You can try the Ebury House on Ebury Street in the Moravia section of London. Moravia is where most of the consulates are. The b&b is around the corner from the Victoria Bus Station, and about a 2 block walk from the Victoria Train Station. I also believe that the #23 bus is on that route. The b&b is also within walking distance of Buckingham Palace. Nice quiet area with nice restaurants. This b&b is highly recommended in the Frommer's Guide to London. I stayed there twice, great hospitality. I think the cost was about $60 USD. There is an email address, but you'll have to check that through Frommer's as I have loaned out my guide book.

We have stayed at the Iolanthe in Hampstead for the last 4 trips. Lovely area, away from the hustle and bustle, and very reasonably priced. It does mean a 15 minute ride on the tube into town, but for us it was worth it.

Have stayed in 2 B&B's on same street in Knightsbridge. On Beaufort Garden off Brompton Road, 2 blocks from Harrods are Claverley Hotel and Knightsbridge Hotel. Both include full English breakfast with the cost of the room. Claverley is more quaint, while Knightsbride offers internet specials. Have a good time.

We stayed at the Aster House, 3 Sumner Place in South Kensington. Very quiet, clean, great breakfast room, smallish room for 99 pounds. Beautiful street.
