B&B's in Kilkenny

Any good suggestion for 3 couples wanting a B&B in Kilkenny?

We stayed at Cnoc Mhuire a few years ago. It was recommended by a shop owner. (It was pouring - none of that soft stuff that day - and we ran into a small jewelry shop owned by James Mary Kelly. He recommended and called for us.)

It's been a few years ago so don't know of it's quality today but it was grand in 1999. Helen Sheehan is the owner and the number on the card we got is 056-621621.

we also stayed at CM ...the place is very nice, not lux, but homey...she makes up for anything it may lack...it is just north of the town...she goes over your plans and makes reservations for you at restaurants after you tell her what you are looking for...we would stay there again...she has a large parking area in front of the house...the house is in a residential area....

restaurants: we loved Cafe Sol...she did not suggest it but it was by far the best we found...service a bit slow but good...reservation sugg...

she suggested Rinuccini just opposite the castle for italien...we did not have a good experience there and it was quite expensive....she thought it was not good because the owner was "off" that nite...it was tooooo grand.....

we had a good lunch at the hamlet of Bennetts Bridge...only one cafe there...very, very good...also several shops and a famous pottery there....north of kilkenny a few miles

We stayed at the Shilogher House which was in a good location; maybe a mile to downtown? The owner was extremely nice and they had rooms in the main house as well as rooms in a second building. I thought that was nice as you could come and go as you pleased without worrying about waking the family. Breakfast offered alot of options as well.

Good luck!
