B&B reservations by e-mail

I was just about to make our reservations for our first two nights when I realized that that meant giving my credit card info in an e-mail. Is this a safe thing to do? And what's the alternative? The B&B doesn't have a secured site.

In these situations you can call them directly (it really doesn't cost that much to call for such a short time - just be aware of the time difference) or you can e-mail the information in two seperate e-mails (i.e. 1 st half of numbers, then 2nd half of numbers), this way all your information is not on one e-mail. I have done both methods, but frankly prefer to just call.

I broke it up and sent it by 2 e-mails. The first one, the first 8 digits, and the second one, the last 8 digits w/expiration date. I didn't have any problem.

Hi C,

It is no less safe than giving your CC info to a stranger over the phone.

If you are concerned, send the number in one eml, and the expiration date in another.

Thanks, guys! I figured there had to be a simple, logical way of dealing with it. Just didn't know what it was! And I realize it's probably no riskier than giving your credit card to a waiter. But still...Will definitely do the two e-mail thing.
