B & B guides
Received a guide from the tourism bureau and the web site is www.townandcountry.ie.
Has anyone used this book? Is there a better book to use for B & Bs?

The Town & Country Book lists the majority of B&Bs in Ireland. Their website can also be accessed: www.townandcountry.ie
Family Homes of Ireland lists other B&Bs: www.familyhomes.ie You usually get the book free with you car rental. Tourism Ireland will not send it to you since they only recognize T&C.
Irish Farm Holidays is a listing of (what else?) farmhouse B&Bs: www.irishfarmholidays.com Tourism Ireland will send it to you if you ask.
If you are going to No. Ireland there are others to get.
I use all of them. They give you a photo, a brief description (written by the owners of the B&B), number of rooms, prices, contact info, etc.
There are a wide variety of B&Bs in those books. They are basically listings. If you want actual reviews of B&Bs in Ireland there are some good ones out there on websites as well as in book form. You can do a Google search or a search here on Fodor's.

We liked the b&bs in Michele Erdvig's Best Little Guide to Ireland (order on her web-site www.IrelandYes.com.) I also chose one out of Alastair Sawday's special places to stay in Ireland, and it was a great choice as well.

www.12travel.com and www.hidden-ireland.com have been great resources in our past travels.
