Auto Rental

Greetings,

Looking for recs on car rental agencies during our visit to Spain this Abril. Planning on picking up a car as we leave Sevilla and tour the South. Thanks for your help. Happy and safe travels.

I like to rent from Hertz. They are professional and take care of you if you ever encounter road problems ...they'll deliver a replacement car to you OR pick you and the car up to have the switch made. Once I had a car that I rented from Heathrow and was staying in Windsor. The transmission on the rental car started to have problems. So, I called their emergency road service, and was in good hands. I'm not sure you would get this sort of service from a small company.

The big thing with car rentals is to ask all the questions about insurances, additional charges... like location service fees, road tax and any other bit that isn't part of the daily rate. But, you might already know these things. Were you wondering who to rent from or some other sorts of car rental info? By the way, for international rentals, I think it's always a good idea to take the collision and liability insurances that are offered. That way, if something does happen, you fo not have to work to resolve it from thousands of miles away.

I recommend comparison shopping with

www.autoeurope.com
www.its-cars-hotels.com
www.kemwel.com

or

www.travelocity.com

Best wishes,

Got a price quote of 523 euros for 13 days, includes pickup at Malaga airport and drop off. Car is Renault Cabrio or Opal Astra. Includes insurance and unlimited mileage. Seems pretty good. Was wondering if this company was reliable.

I have found the best prices for Spain at:

http://www.carjet.co.uk/

and

http://www.rentacar-europe.com/

Used to use AutoEurope, but the two above have come in consistently cheaper the past couple of years. Have had good experiences with both (both are just brokers, btw).
