I am repeating what I posted elsewhere. AutoEurope would have charged me considerably more than Thrifty did when I rented a car in Budapest that I drove to Romania. I could not get AutoEurope to budge on the price. I consider AE a good standard, but not necessarily the broker to use, depending on the cirmcumstances. This past summer we used AE because it was the only broker that could give me a one way rental that allowed me to decline the CDW, and in the second instance was the only broker that could provide a rental out of Limoges.

Two months ago (sorry for the delay), Auto Europe has positively addressed all my concerns and with the minor changes that they implemented to their website there is no more basis for AE’s customers to have the same experience as I had last year.

Taking into account my experience of over 10 years with AE and despite last year’s unfortunate events, I do believe that AE is doing their best to satisfy their customers, even if they are not bound by a contract agreement. What I mean is that you have two distinct contracts, one with AE (a broker) and one with the rental company (Avis, Europcar,…) and if your problem is with the rental company, AE will help you out.
