ATV for CDG to AMS

Hi I had my trip booked by an agent to Canada from India and my itenerary is like Bangalore (BLR)>Paris(CDG)>Amsterdam (AMS)>Montreal(YUL).
I flight was on 1:15 AM IST and I was denied boarding by Air France saying I haven't got Transit visa for changing terminals 2E to 2F. What my travel agent says is no ATV is required if the transfer time is less than 4 hours. Finally my trip got ruined. I hold an Canadian study visa and an Indian passport.
Now the agent says he could only reemberse the ticket price and and I have to pay the remaining amount if I have to reschedule it to next day as the ticket price is sky high. Any suggestions or comments what I need to do right now. Thanks in advance.

To fly between Paris and Amsterdam even if it is just to get to Montreal from Bangalore, you would need a Schengen visa. Your travel agent is misinformed. If you had been taking a direct flight from Bangalore to Paris (if one existed), you already would have been denied boarding in Bangalore. No airline will let you on a plane to the Schengen zone without a visa because they have to pay a fine of 10,000 euros if they do so.
