Sounds like fun -- dinner with four boys, each one "sur son 16-1/2"!

I'll let kerouac explain that one, if need be. ;-)

"I sense a kerouac, Mathieu, colduphere, toupary6 and FMT dinner is in order. I'm sure we'll have the place all to ourselves."

I'll sell tickets.

OMG... too funny. But I would really suggest leaving the white sneaker, baseball caps and fanny packs at home!

Can I sit in the corner, a beret 'comme il faut', a Gauloise in the corner of my mouth, bit unshaven, a Ricard on the table, accordion on knee, lovingly playing La Vie en Rose and remembering the glory days of France??

I'll come if one of the street smart people will escort me to the diner. Otherwise I find Paris really really scary.

What's to fear? You've got a fanny pack so you and your valuables should be quite safe.

I could get sucked in by that ring thing. Or a petition. Those street smart people would never be fooled. They grew up in New York you know. Smart and tough as nails.

Be sure not to shave your legs. I've been told that only the prostitutes in Paris do so.

That was directed to the women. I'm not sure what the rule is for men.

You might find out in the Bois de Boulogne. In fact, you might find out a lot there. If you're not careful.

Well, that means a tank top -- known in Paris as a marcel, in case you wait to buy it at Carrefour upon arrival.

To the OP and all the helpful Fodors posters who offered legitimate advice on this thread I apologize for being partly responsible for bringing this thread down to the depths to which it has sunk. I am sorry.

P.S. - It's mostly colduphere's fault.

I agree to stay off clothing threads (clothing threads ) for at least a day. But I do not agree to stay off street smarts threads. I love exchanging views with people who have been to Paris over ONE BILLION times without incident using the very same purse.

"... I love exchanging views with people who have been to Paris over ONE BILLION times without incident using the very same purse..."

... and wearing nothing but black... because its Paris.

(and with that, I too bid my adieu for silly comments on this thread, with due apologies to the OP as well).
