attimis for nostalgia

Hello: I am from Puerto Rico. Recently our country lost one of the most beloved singer composer named Tonny Croatto. He brought back the values of folk music to the generation of the 60's and 70's and also worked in many community volunteer work and many ecological causes. He borned in Attimis, UDINE and I want very much next year to visit there. Also I have a friend in the area of Avellino in the town of Forino, named Franca Castaldo, are the two areas very far apart. What is the nearest airport to Udine coming from the USA?

You've posted the same question 3 times. Please do not go for 4.

OK, since you are new I will give you some helpful info on using this board. Click your name in order to find any posts you have made. If you do not get any answers, then find your post and post a reply to yourself saying something like, "topping." This will bring your question back to the top so more people can see it. This improves your chances of getting an answer. Also it helps to use a specific title when posting a question. It's a lot more effective to use the name of the city and country for which you would like information.

A lot of new people to our board do not realize how this works right away, so I hope this helps you to find what you need.

Hello Zoribanks, what you probably do not know is this. Once you post a thread if there are no answers your thread gets lower on the list as more threads are written. Rather then reposting your question just click on your name and you will see your original thread (question). Fodor's does not do a good job of giving the proper information to those new to Fodor's so it can get very confusing.

Now regarding Udine. You would fly into the SanMarco Venice airport. You would then take the train to Udine. Udine is northeast of the Venice airport.

To get to where your friend lives you would fly into Naples airport I would imagine. I have a friend in Italy that flies every month from Venice to Naples, so that would be easy for you to do. I am not familiar with trains/busses to where your friend lives but he should be able to advise you.

If you do not have a map of Italy I would go to a bookstore and buy one. This will help you with your trip planning.

Also if you go to www.google.com and type in the name of any city/town in Italy you are interested in you will see websites with lots of information.

Have fun planning this trip to Italy!
