Atlanta GTG is gonna happen!!

Hello!!

We have a plan--thank you so much Iceeu2!!

Sat., Sept. 17th 1.30pm til ?
Maggiano's Little Italy Buckhead
3368 Peachtree Rd. * Atlanta, GA 30326-1009

They will do a family style menu....2 salads, 2 pastas, 2 entrees and 2 desserts for $13.95 pp. Add $3 pp if we wanted to add appetizers. The $13.95 price does not include drinks, gratuities, or taxes...No problem doing separate checks.

For those who have never been, it's Southern Italian style restaurant served family style and all you can eat. It's possible to order from the full menu but not sure if they would be able to do that w/a group as large as we'll probably have.

I like Maggiano's--I've been there at least a half dozen times and hope that all of you will too. Food is good and it's a great place for a large group.

We now need to know if you are a definate yes, no or probable so as to reserve a table/s. And if you are bringing a friend or significant other, please let me know that too.

The location is excellent as it's right by the Buckhead Marta station on Peachtree Road--Maggiano's is across the street from the Financial Center..

Check things out:
www.maggianos.com
www.itsmarta.com

Please RSVP via email as soon as possible so that I can let Maggiano's plan for the trouble we're going to cause

I really want to come but it will be a hard sell for my husband since the Braves won't be in town. That is usually the only reason he chooses to go to Atlanta.

March123--Tell your DH he won't be the only husband....and to further sell him on the idea, he and my DH can talk sports while the rest of us talk travel. OWJ2 lives and breathes sports--it's actually kind of scary.

Yeah, smalti! So glad you guys are coming

Hi, everyone! OWJ, I just e-mailed you - I am a definite yes, and my husband is a very probable yes. I'm sure he'd be happy to join in some sports talk with the rest of the husbands.

I'm really looking forward to meeting some fellow travelers!

OWJ,
Sounds great and we plan to be there. I mentioned before that it's Parent's Weekend at Georgia Tech and we hope to work around that. We live in Alpharetta so it's not a problem getting there. Put us down for two and I'll contact you if anything changes.
Cheers!

The plan sounds great. I've been wanting to try Maggiano's. As I wrote earlier, I am in London until the end of Aug., and I'll have to wait until I return home to check my calendar. If it is at all possible, however, I'll be there and will probably bring a friend.

OK, so I know I've already responded on the US board, but I'll take every opportunity to talk about my Peace Corps daughter's returning home! She'll be living in Austin again, but that's a helluva lot closer than Kenya! Anyway, I'll be joining her in Amsterdam on Sept 20 for a transition time before she returns here and we'll fly home together on the 26th. This is all preface to warn you that I may be totally unbearably happy when I meet y'all at the GTG. You have been warned!

Ah, SallyJane--we can handle a little bragging and excitement. So glad you can make it--and most importantly you can spend time w/your daughter a few days later!

I posted this on the US thread, but some of you may not read that so....was able to secure a 4* Buckhead hotel by bidding priceline for $65.

Seeing where some of you are coming from thought you might need an overnighter also..

See ya on the 17th! Hot dog!

Hey People!
Maggiano's has us down in the reservation book and asks that we pre-order from the family style lunch menu. I2 and I can pick for everyone but if there are certain dishes you'd like to vote for, let us know now! In addion, if you have dietary needs/restrictions, let us know that too.

I2 and I made the executive decision to have appetizers w/lunch. It gives us more options for those who are picky, more yummy food for those of us who are not and it's only $3/pp more

Plan to come hungry!!!!!

OWJ and Iceeu2

I love it all and will be happy with just about anything - but I gotta put a vote in for GNOCCHI!! It seems like so few Italian restaurants around here serve gnocchi, so I always order it when I see it on a menu.

But truly, I'll happily eat everything on that menu.

Thanks, OWJ and I2 - looking forward to meeting you!

Meredith--We'll do our best and see if others are also gnocchi fans for ya!

See you in a couple of weeks,
