Because Iceland is directly on the way I do think it is a nice break esp for the children. Layovers are fast and it is an impressive operation the way they turn over all those flights at 6 and 7 am.

If you check I think the flights are timely. Buy your food and use the space age toilets before proceeding upstairs to passport control.

The sunrise over Greenland going and the long overflight of Greenland returning are both sensational. Also watch for Hudson Bay returning and floes of icebergs between Greenland and Labrador.
