Assisi Accommodations Oct 1-4
I am looking for accommodations for 4 adult women in Assisi for the dates of Oct 1-4, 2009. I realize this is the weekend for St Francis celebration and am having no luck so far in finding affordable accommodations. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have a list of convents in Assisi (there are about a dozen convents that provide rooms) if you don't mind staying in one. Some of them are really hotels owned by a convent, but some are just convents and have curfews so be sure to ask. This first one might be just a bit over your price range.

Basilica Patriacle e Protoconvento has two different facilities. Domus Pacis (190 beds) http://www.domuspacis.it/albergo.html and Casa di Accoglienza le Stuoie - http://www.lestuoie.it/en/
This one has been under renovation and is scheduled to reopen in Sept.

Check the curfew for this one because I think it's early.

This one is outside of Assisi (7km). http://www.eremocarceri.it/

There are two listed on Santa Susanna's website. They do not keep it updated and their prices aren't accurate.

You can also look up most of them on www.monasterystays.com (to see amenities/location/curfew), but they are a reseller and mark up the prices (5-15€).

Last spring we spent three nights at Hotel La Rocca in Assisi, and were very pleased.
Our room was in the newly renovated section, and everything was brand new.
If you drive up to the hotel, don't be misled (as I was) by the length of the ride up. Actually the hotel is just a short walk from the very center of the town.
We loved Assisi, and especially enjoyed a little family restaurant just steps from the hotel.
The rates were good!
