Assisi

A quick question; is Asissi ok for a day trip between Florence on the way back to Rome or is overnight a must?

Was planning on leaving Florence early in the morning by train to Rome. I have a cruise to Greece that leaves the next day.

You could manage a quick run through of Asissi but I would suggest skipping it this time and spending the time in Rome.

The works by Giotto are well worth a detour to see.

Yes, well worth it, but no need to spend the night. It's a big town, but if you do your homework or hire a guide you can manage it all in 3/4 of a day.

Thanks for the help. I have one more question. What are the travel times between Florence to Assisi and the Assisi to Rome?

I spent the night last month but considered just staying the day on the way to Rome. The basillica is well worth seeing and the town is lovely.

For times and schedules, go to trenitalia website.
