Lush at least used to have the advantage of being something you could not get stateside. (ha ha)

The other day I walked down M street and wondered if I had been transported to Covent garden all of a sudden. It's open there now.

I still love Red Rooster soap and the fizzy bombs are fun.

Flygirl, I know you really are a pilot.
Would you one day like to fly yourself to Paris?

oh Lordy! cheaper to get a ticket on Air France! plus no in flight movie on those teeny little planes. ha ha

I took 'my guys' to the NTSB on Friday for an accident investigation lab tour. very sobering experience. it's fascinating, but still sad to know what those poor folks went through on these crashes.

flygirl, you do realize that Mother's Day is coming up within days, don't you? I'm sure you're very sweet to want to get your mother Parisian perfume, but unless you're planning on hopping on that AirFrance flight, your present is going to be late. Which, of course, makes it look like an afterthought--not what any Mother would want, dear.

as I said in my first post, I already have a number of gifts for her, and this is an addendum - but how sweet of you to be concerned about my mother, dln!

Love Annick Goutal's Hadrian. Acqua di Biella makes a similar cologne, Baraja. You can purchase it at Takashimaya 5th Ave., 6th floor.

Scarlett! good idea! they just got back recently from 2 weeks in Hawaii though so not sure she'd get back on a plane for reverse jet lag so soon... maybe next year. ugh 12 time zones! wow.

Now you're onto something, Scarlett! I think flygirl should take her mother to Paris and let her pick her own perfume. That way, no Fodorite would have to take the bum rap for having recommended the wrong scent for Mama!

Horrors! 12 time zones, might as well go to Fiji or Tokyo-which would be fine with me too, (in case my children are reading this)

well, THIS mama would be happy to be sent or taken anywhere right about now. Anyone want to adopt a Mama and send her to France or Italy, Spain or POrtugal, Japan or London.
See, I am not so picky.
I will buy my own perfume too LOL

since Goutel died, her daughter has taken over and has introduced a new fragrance that I do not think is availble here yet.
