ArtDeco Hotel Rome
Has anyone stayed in this hotel? I have done a search and can only find a couple of other threads where people asked the same question and didn't get an answer. Surely one of you well-travelled people must have stayed here?

It looks fantastic on the website, but I wondered whether it's really as good as it looks. Also - the location isn't as central as I really wanted, and I wondered what the area was like, and how accessible places like the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain are.

Thought I'd top this message since I too am looking for anybody's opinions on this hotel. I've searched the forum, but apparently no one has stayed there(?). Does anyone know about the location in proximity to Spanish Steps, etc.? It looks really nice on its website, but we know how pictures can be deceiving. Thanks for any comments.

Hi Angela - thanks for topping my post by the way.

I never managed to find out anything else about the hotel and have actually now booked the Albergo del Senato as we decided location was more important. The ArtDeco is quite a way from the Pantheon, etc, and a reasonable, if longish walk from the Spanish Steps. I'm guessing here from looking at the map, but I'd say that's not too far wrong.

I hope you get more response than I did!

I'm staying at the Art Deco in May. You're right - the website makes it look quite nice (especially for the low price). Also, a friend who's a travel agent said he's booked it for several clients - all of whom enjoyed it. He also said it's in a very good location. A somewhat "artsy" area. The people at the hotel seem very nice. When I requested a reservation, they mentioned that if I didn't mind walking up a couple of flights of stairs, they could put us in a more romantic room

Thanks Anna, Lynn. Lynn, please post your impressions of the Artdeco when you return. I'm not going until Sept. so I have some time, although I'm getting information overload trying to select the best location, best amenities, best price, etc. Have a great time both of you!
