Have a great time Chellolovie! We loved Dromoland, I hope you have time to walk the grounds and then bath in your huge bathroom with heated towel rack and slip into your terry cloth rodes and then sit in you wing back chairs with your complimentary cogac listening to Irish music on the CD (if you run out of cognac, just call, they will bring you more!) Please give us a toast!

I am thinking of staying there a few nights. Can you please tell me what I can expect to pay per day per person for meals there? Anything very special to do while in the area? Did you need a car?

Beth
You do need a car. We had the breakfast buffet as part of our room package and drove elsewhere for dinner so I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

Well, I know I'm too late, but just a followup. The Shores on the Dingle Peninsula is great. The food was wonderful, Annette, the hostess is great, the view is spectacular and the rooms a very comfortable. So far, my favorite B&B in Ireland.

Bill

Longueville House is wonderful!! I spent several days there 3 years ago with two of my children while visiting their older brother who was studying in Cork. The house is spacious and the staff could not be more kind or gracious. We arrived after dinner on a cold February night and they escorted us to a cozy fire in the drawing room, brought my children some yummy desserts and me a cup of tea. They answer all questions and lent us boots one rainy day to go exploring nearby ruins. Our room was spacious and comfortable. They have a great big Irish breakfast in the morning and the restaurant seems to be renowned. There is an immense garden enclosed by a stone wall in back of the house. I awoke the first morning to see someone wheeling freshly picking produce which was then served for dinner that night - I have never tasted such fresh vegetables. It is also a working farm so there were sheep and cows which my children really loved. They had a darling English cocker named Kitty who we recently learned died when she was hit by a car and has been replaced by a Jack Russell terrier but it sent us on a hunt to possibly get one of that breed. You should have a very relaxed and memorable time there. I would love to go back.
