Ardanaisaig Hotel

Some of you may recall that I was intending to have a week in the west in the summer and hoped for a couple of nights in the Ardanaisaig Hotel. When the confirmation came through, the price they had quoted me was per person and not per night.

I can't praise them enogh for the professional way they dealt with what was a simple misunderstanding. A polite letter and a refund followed my request.

I still hope to get there some day, but wanted to credit them with a great customer care code

Sheila:

How was your trip? Love to hear the highlights of it...

By the way, we've done lots of work on our itinerary. It is posted on my thread "Upcoming Trip to Scotland". Would you mind taking a look? I really do value your knowledgeable insights. Quick question...what is the drive from Skye to Applecross - Torridon - Beauly like? We're thinking of taking that route to Beauly/Inverness instead of the southern route from Skye.

The road from Lochcarron to Applecross is one of the most beautiful in the world and Torridon is stunning too.

The Beallach nam Bo (the Pass of the Cattle)is very high and very exposed and is a single track road, and would be challenging in bad weather, however.

Thanks Sheila. My stomach is not crazy about driving through the steep mountains...in fine weather, how long does the pass take?

The pass bit is 11 miles- not more than 20 minutes.
