This hotel is located on rue de Rennes. The closest metro stop should be St Sulpice or Rennes. It is an area in the Latin Quarter with many shops and restaurants not too far away. However the rue de Rennes is very busy, so make sure you ask for a quiet room. Regarding the hotel comfort, some American colleagues stayed there and said it was average.
I have not stayed there but according to my map the nearest metro stop is
St Placide which is where rue de Rennes
hits Blvd Montparnasse.St. Placide
is not a major metro stop, so you might find the location a little inconvenient--you'll have to do a lot of changing. The Montparnasse-Bienvenue stop is a major one with lots of transfers available, but I can't tell how many blocks this hotel is from that major stop.
The Fodor's guide likes this hotel, calling it great value for your money.
I don't think it is considered to be in the Latin Quarter which is the 5th Arrond. near the Sorbonne. The Aramis appears to be in the southern part of the 6th, near the 14th.
If you go to the web site
www.paris.org you can find basic info on this hotel including a couple of
rave recommendations from past guests.
good luck

Elaine was correct regarding the metro stop. It is definitely St Placide (and not St Sulpice). However, you'll find many buses on rue de Rennes to take you wherever you want.
P.S. The rue de Rennes area is definitely part of the 6th arrondissement and considered as the beginning of the Latin Quarter.
