apartments in London

My husband and his sister and her husband will be traveling to London in late November- we are considering renting an apartment rather then staying at a hotel- we will be staying in London for a week- any suggestions?

Buon Giorno Carolyn,
I remember reading several good recommendations for apartments managed by Nick Price (I believe he lives in the U.S.). I've never stayed in any of his properties, but perhaps someone else on the board can offer comments? Nick's web page is http://www.priceapts.co.uk/londonlinks.htm
Buon Viaggio,
Giovanni

I have used Farnum and Christ many times. Their office is in the US, and unlike many of the companies that manage bigger apartment buildings or hotel/apts., they handle a number of privately owned individual flats in London. We have rented the same one-bedroom flat in Covent Garden a number of times. They have another one just below ours with two bedrooms (one bath), huge living/dining room, and small but efficient kitchen complete with washer/dryer. They have quite a few of them in Sloane Square area, etc., but we love staying in Covent Garden -- easy walking distance to the market, Leicester Square, Soho, and all the theatres where we spend much of our time. They have a very minimal web-site -- www.farnum-christ.com. Check that out, but you do best by calling them at 1-800-366-2048. They personally discuss your needs with you and can then recommend the most appropriate flat for you.

Carolyn,
We've used Nick Price's apts several times (Nick does not live in the US but does spend part of his summers in Maine by the way where he owns property). Some of his apts on Balcombe St. (he owns several there) are quite nice, others are more "budget" types, clean and decent but no frills. I have a friend who stayed in a 2 bedroom this past summer and she was pleased. We've never had a problem with Nick, he's very pleasant to deal with. He also acts as an agent for quite a few other properties as well. I'd recommend him.
