apartment in rome

We have made reservations for an apartment which is located on Via flaminio near the Piazza del Popolo? Does anyone know anything about the area and is it a safe area in which to stay?

Seems a little dated to "top" this, but since tnnurse posted a new question again today, maybe replies would still be in order?

A better more specific header might help (or might not make any difference).

Best wishes,

Rex

Via Flaminia is okay. Busy area though. Not known for character. You have to cross quite a lot of traffic to get into P.za del Popoulo but thereafter you are in a great and central shopping and sightseeing area -- the centro storico areas of Pantheon, P.za navona etc on your right, via Margutta (leading to Spanish steps) on your left.

thank you to rex and tedgale for replying to my request. the apartment was found on rbvo.com which i have used for many rentals in the usa. we are sharing the apartment with another couple for the rate of 480E for 3 nights. the pixs look good on the website. Will we have difficulty crossing the busy road on foot?

There's no pedestrian underpass or overpass, that I recall -- there never is in Rome! I guess you just do as the Romans do and dash across.
