Apartment in Madrid
After looking at hotel costs for two rooms, I started doing a little research on apts in Madrid. We like this location and costs would be half of hotel room. My husband and I and 2 grown up sons would be staying here. Anyone use this agency or stay in this apt? Gracias!

Ahh. It exists.
That's not bad, I think. It's not a long Metro ride from anywhere you're likely to want to see as a tourist and it's away from the mob scene of the Gran Via and Plaza Mayor yet still within the loop of the #6 line on the Metro.

Salamanca is an upscale residential district.
You will find the most elegant shops, nice leafy streets galleries etc. in the area. I love it( stayed in the barrio last month), but most first time visitors choose to stay closer to the museums and night spots around Sol. Metro and buses in Madrid are easy to use.
I am not familiar with the agency.

Thanks for the replies. We stayed in Salamanca district last May at a great boutique hotel- hotel Unico. I actually like the location of the AC Recolatas (sp?) but after looking at booking two rooms I realized we can get a lot more for our money with an apt. Worldinabag, I loved the apt you linked too, but it is booked until next summer. We need something in May. We walked around that area, but not so familiar with it. We always stay in the Marais in Paris and I would like to find something similar to that in Madrid.

If you're looking at the Apartments Ramon de la Cruz, you can save some money booking directly with the apartments, as recommended by Maribel (www.maribelsguides.com).
The area is fine for getting around.
