Aosta Valley Castles Without a Car?

I going to be in Turin and I'm thinking of heading up to Aosta for 2 nights or so. My main interest is in the Gothic castles in the region. My guidebook doesn't indicate how one can get to them all. Does anyone know which are close enough to walk between...have any of you tried this?

I thought I could try Castello di Sante-Pierre and walk? to Castello di Sarre one day maybe starting out from Villeneuve?

I thought maybe I could see Cstello di Verres and Castello d'Issogne from the town of Verres where the train does stop.

I wouldn't mind a trip up to Mont Blanc from Courmayeur as well.

Any suggestions or tips for this plan?

Thanks very much,

Murphy

Murphy - I haven't visited the ones you mention, but we were delighted with Fenis Castle.

Here are some pictures:

Hi Steve - thanks for the link! That is exactly the kind of castle I love to visit. Do you take a bus there by any chance? or do you remember how far it was from the nearest town? I'm going to hit the books and look for it.

Cheers,

Murphy

Hi Murphy - You can get there by bus from Chatillon F.S (- railway station) - or from Aosta.

Here's the timetable:

Hope this helps ...
