Anyone who's been to Ceremony of the Keys

I'm leaving for London tomorrow! The pound is up, the dollar is down, it looks like it's going to rain the whole time I am there and I have a cold, but I don't care! I have tickets to the Ceremony of the Keys and I'm wondering if they allow video recording or photographing. Does anyone know? Thanks.

An elderly Beefeater ushers us through the cast iron gates, a policeman then scans all your hand luggage with a portable 'Swisho' metal detector. On the 'all clear' you follow the Beefeater to the first main gate. For the next 20 minutes he explains the full ceremony, especially no recording or photography

Absolutely none - and they have dungeons for those who break the rules . . . . .

But on the plus side, we don't chop off the heads of people who argue about the rules. Yet.

Some hints for Ceremony of the Keys:

--yes, leave cameras at home
--keep quiet during the ceremony...both out of respect/dignity and to enjoy the experience of hearing the marching footsteps, commands and countercommands, bugle calls, etc.
--step lively...keep to the front of the group of 30-50 fellow ceremony-goers and you'll see and hear more.
--don't call them "Beefeaters"...they are Yeoman Warders

--and lastly...don't begrudge the rain...they're having a drought in southeast England.

The Ceremony of the Keys should prove to be a highlight of your visit
