Anyone stayed at the BW Aramis

My husband and I will be Paris in July. Has anyone stayed at the Best Western Aramis Saint Germain recently?

Also, what is the best way of getting there from the airport (CDG)

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I stayed there last summer for two nights. My room was just OK (bed was fine, but desk and chair were falling apart). The hotel could use a refurbishing, but I liked the location. I took the RER from Charles DeGaulle to Gare du Nord, then the metro. Cost was 49 FF, and took about an hour.

Here are a whole bunch of comments about the Aramis.
NOTE: This hotel has received more varied comments than any other. Apparently it has been renovated and, according to some, improved considerably, so when you read the comments keep that in mind.
Nothing spectacular or very interesting
good basic accomodations
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel
was awful, simply ghastly.
clean and the staff was very nice and helpful.
rooms were adequate size but small by American standards.
as soon as possible, we moved
street noise was absolutely unbearable.
rooms were very small
The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that I only had to stay 2 nts. room is too small, and OLD.
some new comments:
a Best Western.
in the process of being completely rehabbed.
Lots of atmosphere
the place was tres french!
staff were cordial
an adequate hotel
room was relatively spacious. So was the bathroom.
It is nice, not very fancy, but clean
the front desk is especially helpful
not spectacular, but good basic accomodation.
William, the manager, is especially helpful.
find another hotel.
We stayed one night and moved out.
The rooms are tiny and dark
Do not, I repeat, do not stay at the Aramis St. Germain.
It is terrible.
I found it perfectly adequate
room and bathroom were relatively large
I was satisfied.
The twin room we had was pretty spacious
a nice sized bath. The double room we also
Rooms were updated recently
clean and pleasant,
courteous and helpful staff.
We stayed there in April '99 and loved it. The rooms were large, very big bathrooms, nice furnishings, great front desk staff and even had a little balcony. We returned to Paris this year, but due to finances, we stayed in a less expensive place. I'd return to the Aramis again. Oh, fabulous location.
